The quake-devastated Court Theatre has announced its first show since the February earthquake.

The comedy, Five Women Wearing the Same Dress, was due to be staged at The Court Theatre's Arts Centre home before the February 22 quake closed the entire complex.

However, the same cast including star Christchurch actress Claire Dougan, have staged the show at the Fortune in Dunedin where it has been hailed as "tremendously funny" and ""the most perfect antidote for the earthquake jitters".

It is written by Alan Ball, writer of American Beauty and creator of TV shows Six Feet Under and True Blood and is about five bridesmaids hiding in a bedroom above an extravagant wedding reception. As these five very different women share their stories and secrets, they discover they may have more in common with each other than they realise.

The production will now open at the Aurora Centre on July 13 and run until July 23. Bookings on 03 963 0870 or www.courttheatre.org.nz
