HELPING FIN: The creators behind the Beached Az series, Jarod Green, Anthony MacFarlane and Nick Boshier, hope their latest installment will inspire others to donate to those affected by the Christchurch earthquake.
Three Aussie lads behind the popular Beached Az YouTube series are using humour to inspire others to donate to those affected by the Christchurch earthquake.
Jarod Green, Anthony MacFarlane and Nick Boshier, all aged 29, are the collective brains behind the hit YouTube series featuring a New Zealand whale who finds himself beached on the shore.
The series’ tagline – “I’m beached as bro” – has become well-known internationally and the first episode of the series, released in 2008, has had more than 6.4 million hits. In 2009 ABC TV picked up the series and it has screened on TV3 (NZ), Fox 8, ABC1 and ABC2, while more than $2 million of Beached Az merchandise has been sold.
The boys from New South Wales, who according to Green have little to no idea about New Zealand culture, released their latest instalment Beached Az – Donate to Christchurch six hours after the earthquake hit.
